Remembering the Tongva People on Indigenous People’s Day

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, it is important to remember the native Tongva people who were displaced from their lands and forced to convert to Christianity. Tens of thousands died as a result of colonialism.

Pasadena is still a beautiful land but hundreds are homeless and hundreds more are displaced every year by gentrification, the rising cost of rent, and the lack of protections for residents, many of whom have lived in the community for generations.

I’m running for city council because I believe Pasadena should continue to be home for all the people who live here. Please support my campaign with a donation today!
